The SkillME platform leverages the collaborative intelligence of the Honoris United Universities network to offer students online short learning programmes aimed at improving employability by nurturing skills and enabling students to thrive in a 21st century work environment. There are a total of four, individual Masterclasses in this programme.

Together with MANCOSA’s 25 years of developing world-class human talent, participants can learn at their own pace while improving their skills in a future-oriented and digital environment.

The first virtual SkillME Masterclass focuses on Starting a Digital Business in SA: Opportunities, Registration and E-commerce and takes place on Saturday 19 February 2022 from 9am until 5pm. It will be facilitated by Lebo Gunguluza, Fintech Pioneer Digital Strategist and Inspirational Business speaker.

Online learning programmes of a short duration have become popular for many reasons. Online short learning programmes enable students to learn a new skill, at their own pace and convenience, in the comfort and security of their home. Besides being more accessible than degree programmes, online short learning programmes are also more affordable.

Paresh Soni, Director of MANCOSA’s School of Information and Digital Technology believes that the there is an urgent need to bring the ordinary person from periphery to the centre of the digital revolution.

“The reality is that very few South Africans are participating meaningfully in the digital economy. It is through technopreneurship Masterclasses like ours, as well as other digital short courses available on the MANCOSA SkillME platform, that individuals will learn how to successfully transform their existing ideas and traditional businesses into successful digital businesses.

“We have selected some of the most outstanding and recognised industry leaders, with proven track records, to guide our students in their pursuit of developing their digital competencies,” he said.

Soni added that all registered participants would also receive a blockchain-issued certificate of completion, after the masterclass.
